Robyn was sourced by the Disney Channel, Burbank, California for the production of "Wahine/Rip Girls" which was filmed in Queensland and northern NSW as the Surf Co-ordinator for the movie. She also assisted in script writing, costume design and continuity.
As a teenager growing up at Crescent Head in NSW, Robyn's dad ordered her first surfboard for her out of the Surfing World magazine, which was freighted up by train from the "Keyo" factory in Sydney.
She was the NSW North Coast Champion at the age of 16, and shared the surf with the likes of Nat Young, Midget Farrelly and Phyllis O'Donnell.
Robyn left the surfing scene behind to raise her daughters, Karley and Denni, while forging a successful career in the advertising industry. She was still involved in water based sports as a certified swimming coach but also became involved in squash, hockey and golf all at a competitive level.
With the revival of the Longboard, Robyn once again found herself attracted back into surfing and the rest is history. Over the past 12 years, Robyn has surfed some of Australia's legendary surf beaches, like Bell's in Victoria, Margaret River in Western Australia and her home break Kirra on the Gold Coast, as a member of the Queensland State Team. She was also the reigning Masters Women's Champion of Queensland.
Robyn had a set back with her health a few years back when osteoarthritis took away some of the use of her hands. To Robyn, this was devastation as her hands were her "work". The specialists did their best to "rebuild" her drawing hand, but no one could stop the pain as she gripped the pen. This has now limited Robyn's ability to surf at a competitive level, but she is kept very busy "social" surfing as well as kayaking, cycling, swimming and spending time with her 8 grand children........who all want to come to Crescent Head for holidays.
Robyn has now moved back to Crescent Head to "retire" but has found retirement way out of the question.
She has been appointed to the Crescent Head Committee by The Kempsey Shire Council to implement strategies on the spending of Government monies within Crescent Head as well as on the Surf Focus Group Committee with Council for establishing guidelines for Surfing Schools on the East Coast of Australia.
Robyn's daughters are now involved in the company, and they have released the trademarks "GIDGET" and "RIDERS OF THE LOST ART" in Australia.
Women In The Waves is also the authorized supplier to Coca-Cola for surfboards, bodyboards, wetsuits and rashies.
With all this new injected talent from Karley and Denni, Robyn is positive that Women In The Waves will go from strength to strength, and of course she will be "looking over the girl's shoulders".
Another tragedy hit Robyn on 2 March 2005. Her dad, who had been ill, sadly passed away.
Her dad had been her mentor for all her life with his guidance and advice through business and personal issues. Robyn knows he is still keeping an eye on everything and helping wherever he can.

"I will not be far away for life goes on-
So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you cannot see or touch me, I will be near,
And if you listen with your heart, you will hear,
All of my love around you soft and clear."
